It's Peony Time.
Love a good Peony - thrips and all the creatures that come along with them. The fragrance is enticing and at times overwhelming. It is May 24th and they are just starting to open up for the season. The ants have left and hopefully the rain will not ruin them too quickly. The first variety to open are Festiva Maxima. Last year I bought a variety called Victoire de la Marne. Loved the name. Only have one bloom on it this year.
